FRA is now seeking a qualified lawyer for the legal unit to support the work at the National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC). Your mission
As a lawyer focused on cybersecurity, you will belong to the legal unit located at the office of the Chief Legal Officer. The Chief Legal Officer reports directly to the agency's Director General and has overall responsibility for ensuring that the agency's operations are conducted in accordance with laws and regulations. The Chief Legal Officer will also work to ensure that the agency has appropriate legal support and is responsible for the legal assistance to the agency. The Chief Legal Officer is supported in this task by a Deputy Chief Legal Officer and the legal unit, where the agency's lawyers are placed.
Your mission mainly consists of providing legal support to the National Cybersecurity Centre's (NCSC) operations. This support includes conducting legal investigations, processing referrals, and drafting and quality assuring proposals for decisions, internal regulations, contracts, and agreements. You will work with issues related to cybersecurity, EU law, data processing, transparency and confidentiality, security protection, contract law, and labor law. You will also conduct internal training. In your daily work, you will have many contacts both internally within the agency and externally with the Government Offices, other authorities, and the business sector.

We are looking for someone who has a law degree or equivalent. You should also be a qualified lawyer or have equivalent experience. The role requires that you have experience of qualified legal work from another government agency, court, or equivalent. You have experience working with complex legal issues and have good knowledge of public administration. You have very good legal knowledge. You also have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and good knowledge of English.
It is an advantage if you are a court of appeal or administrative court assessor and if you have experience working in the Government Offices. It is also advantageous if you have experience working with cybersecurity, drafting regulations, EU legal issues, state aid, data processing, or issues related to transparency and confidentiality. Additionally, experience from the defense or security sector is advantageous.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You have a solution-oriented approach and a very good analytical ability. You are used to breaking down complex issues and problems. The position involves working both independently and in close collaboration with other lawyers and colleagues in other professional categories. It is important that you have good cooperation skills, very good judgment, and high integrity. At times, the work is conducted under time pressure, which requires your ability to work quickly without compromising legal quality. Focus may change at short notice, which requires flexibility. As a person, you are stable and have an easy time creating, maintaining, and developing relationships.

The workplace is initially located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes from Brommaplan. In the future, the workplace is planned to be moved to another location in Stockholm. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification. A requirement for employment is a successful security screening with background check. The security screening will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in wartime.
